7-day Ireland tours: a week around the island
A week is the length many first-time visitors choose. It is long enough for a loop that takes in the west and south-west, and often a city at the start or end, while still allowing a few slower days.

The short answer
A 7-day tour of Ireland can usually link several regions in a loop. Pace matters more than the list of places: a week with three or four bases feels very different from one with seven hotels.

Loop or one-way?
A loop starts and ends in the same place, which makes flights simple. A one-way route, for example arriving in Dublin and leaving from Shannon, can save a long return drive. Check which kind a tour is before booking flights.
How a week is often shaped
| Part of the week | What to look for |
|---|---|
| First day | Start time and place; enough time after your flight |
| Middle days | Two-night stays; how many long driving days |
| Last day | Finish time and location versus your flight |
| Throughout | Free afternoons, optional activities and extra costs |
Where a week can take you
Seven days is typically enough for the west coast highlights, including the Cliffs of Moher, Galway and Kerry. Some tours may head north instead. If a tour crosses into Northern Ireland, remember the currency there is pounds sterling.
Compare with 6-day and 10-day tours if your dates are flexible.
